Our Mother Lode EAA chapter is proud to participate in the Young Eagles program. It was launched in 1992 to give interested young people, ages 8 - 17, an opportunity to go flying in a general aviation airplane. These flights are offered free of charge and are made possible through the generosity of EAA member volunteers.

Since 1992, more than 2 million Young Eagles have enjoyed a flight through the program. Young Eagles have been registered in more than 90 different countries and have been flown by more than 42,000 volunteer pilots. Today, more than 20,000 pilots under the age of 40 can trace their aviation start back to their Young Eagles experiences.

2022 Young Eagle Flight Info: Schedule TBD

Flight Day activities begin at 8:30am at the Calaveras County Airport (3600 Carol Kennedy Rd, San Andreas).  Pre-registration is encouraged but not required.  ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST BE PRESENT BETWEEN 8:15 AM AND 9:00 AM IN ORDER TO BE SCHEDULED FOR A FLIGHT.  Anyone arriving after 9:00am will be placed on standby and may not be able to fly based on flight schedule availability and volunteer aircraft/pilot availability.

All participants should understand that no guarantee is made/implied that each participant will get to fly. Many factors may impact our ability to provide a flight (weather, aircraft/pilot availability, number of participants, number of first time participants, etc). We will do our best to get every participant into the air but please understand that it may not happen! Safety and aircraft performance will dictate aircraft assignment and flight order, not the order of your arrival compared to other participants. Priority for flights and aircraft seat assignments will be given to first time participants and will be made at the discretion of the Pilot in Command.
